Cooks With Fire

Who: Colonial House Restaurant and Bar

What: Welcome to the Colonial House Restaurant and Bar, also known as the local’s favorite place to dine. Specializing in American cuisine prepared with an inventive flare, our robust menu is constantly evolving to feature fresh, seasonal ingredients.

With Head Chef Kevin Beshara at the helm, CHRNB cuisine appeals to every generation. Many of the staff has worked for over twenty years to perfect dishes from beloved comfort foods like Chicken Fried Steak and BBQ Pork Ribs, to contemporary choices like the Hummus Platter, Ocean Salmon, and Buffalo Flat Iron Steak.

But the deliciousness doesn’t end there. Certified Pastry Chef Jeff Slathar has won rave reviews for his mouth-watering desserts and pastries, made from scratch every morning. Looking for a special treat? Join us on the last Friday of every month and experience tableside Flambe, prepared by Slathar himself. Or grab a drink with friends on our outdoor patio during warm summer months.

You’re always at home in the Colonial House, where hospitality is our top priority. Step inside, and you’ll see for yourself. With d├ęcor that conjures nostalgic memories of times past, our interior is inviting and unpretentious. In fact, our building is considered a historical site in Rapid City. Once a signature restaurant known as the Taylor House, we’re proud to carry that torch and preserve the original appeal of our building.

So bring your friends, your family, and an appetite for comfort food. At the Colonial House Restaurant and Bar we Cook with Fire, then pass that spirit onto our guests.

When: The Colonial House Restaurant and Bar was established in 1981 by the Beshara family. Originally purchased by Bill and Sandy, they still remain active in daily operations, along with son Kevin and his wife Vicky, and grandchildren Lucy and Max.

Where: You can find CHRNB at 2315 Mount Rushmore Road, Rapid City, SD. Located in the heart of the Black Hills, it’s the perfect stop after a day spent exploring Mount Rushmore, cruising Highway 16, or meeting up with friends after work.

Why: Because everyone loves delicious food prepared with quality ingredients, and we’ve got a passion for it. Whether i’s hearty comfort dishes or lighter fare, we believe that food brings people together. We’re feeding individuals, as well as the heart and soul. If we’ve done that, we’ve done our jobs.
